Praised for her “magnetic stage presence” and her “dramatic intensity” by Opera News, Ukrainian-American soprano Anastasiya Roytman is one of the most exciting talents in today’s international opera scene. Recent engagements include her role debut as Abigaille (NABUCCO) with the South Bohemian Theatre (Czech Republic), Giulietta (cover) in Zandonai’s GIULIETTA E ROMEO with Teatro Grattacielo, an European concert tour with the Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester (Denmark) and a return to the Open Air Festival Český Krumlov to reprise the role of TURANDOT, which she debuted there in 2019. Her 2025-2026 season features a return to Carnegie Hall with the MidAtlantic Philharmonic Orchestra in works by Rachmaninoff.
Ms. Roytman’s favorite operatic appearances include the title role in TOSCA with American Lyric Opera at the historic United Palace Theatre, Senta (DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER) with the United Nations Orchestra, Amelia (UN BALLO IN MASCHERA) at Symphony Space, Frau in Schoeck’s VOM FISCHER UN SYNER FRU and scenes from SALOME with Opera Sakrale (Berlin and Hamburg), a tour with the Royal Danish Ballet in South and East Africa performing the heroines in Massenet’s LA VIERGE and LA TRAVIATA, Tatyana (EUGENE ONEGIN) with Moscow Chamber Opera, Bel Cantanti Opera, New Jersey State Opera, and Garden State Opera, Pamina (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE) with the Salzburg Oper im Berg Festival, Lucy (BEGGAR’S HOLIDAY) at Espace Pierre Cardin (Paris), and Elle (LA VOIX HUMAINE) at the Dramatic Arts Festival in Moscow, which was featured on Russian National Television. She also created the role of Baroness Strahl in J. Morgulas’ MASQUERADE, which was originally premiered at the International House of Music and Pokrovsky Theater in Moscow. Her portrayal merited rave reviews from Opera News, which praised her “solid high notes” and “intelligent acting.” A natural on the concert stage, Ms. Roytman has performed joint and solo recitals presented by Opera America, Carnegie Hall, Tribeca Performing Arts Center and Le Poisson Rouge. She also sang highlights from TRISTAN UND ISOLDE with the Brooklyn Metro Chamber Orchestra, the soprano soloist in Mendelssohn's ELIJAH with American Music Festivals in Chicago, scenes from LA CLEMENZA DI TITO with members of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, a gala concert at Teatro Morelos in Mexico, the English premiere of Dargomyzhsky’s RUSALKA in New York and appearances with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New Hampshire Music Festival. Outside of her stage performances, Ms. Roytman participated in a film project of DIE WALKÜRE in collaboration with Bayreuth Festival. She is the first prize recipient of the first international “Die Wiener Festivalbrücken” competition in Vienna, Austria, an Otto Edelmann Society competition finalist, and a Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions encouragement award recipient. Ms. Roytman made her operatic debut at sixteen with the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Orchestra, followed quickly by her international debut with the Lyrique en Mer International Festival. She holds a Master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. A devoted humanitarian, Ms. Roytman has participated in benefit concerts and fundraisers for numerous charitable causes, including the Voices of September 11th Organization, NYC Public Schools, Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief, and the Cohen Children’s Hospital, and served as an ‘Artist Ambassador’ for the Opus 1 Foundation.
